Music Monday.....Bearded Birfday edition...

It's my birthday.....so i'm gonna put a couple videos...because i'm a man and i do what i want.

Music Monday:Vampire Weekend

This is a fun song and a fun video. I'm a new fan of Vampire Weekend. I like them. They make me dance. Now I must go get ready to celebrate one more bday lunch with the beard and his dad.

Dear birfday boy,

Thanks for being manly and hunky and studly. Thanks for reaching things when I can't reach them, which is most of the time. thanks for giving me cuddles any time I want. thanks for being so funny and making me laugh on a very regular basis. thanks for being so passionate about being creative and following your dreams. thanks for loving garden gnomes as much as I do, thanks for letting me decorate things in a girly manner even though I know you'd rather have a little more man and a little less bird pattern. thanks for not telling me to shut up when I constantly ask you whether or not I should get my nose pierced because I can't make up my mind. Thanks for telling me I'm super fly every time I start to get down on myself. Thanks for letting me bring stray dogs home. Thanks for letting me bring stray cats home! Thanks for giving me hugs when I cry in parking lots over giving said stray cats away. Thanks for playing with my hair to put me to sleep at night. Thanks for being protective over me and giving hardcore looks to teenagers when they check me out. Thanks for being a totally legit super awesome drummer. Thanks for laughing at my awesomely stupid jokes and not telling me what a crazy person I am when I start making random noises and/or dancing for no apparent reason. Thanks for going on picnics with me and letting me buy out-of-our-budget anthropologie stuff. Thanks for thinking I'm cool and indy when really I just don't match. Thanks for putting up with me when I go all hormonally psycho on you. Thanks for being there for me all the time and giving me wise, godly advice when I need it, and thanks for being an awesome leader. And thanks for not calling me a fatty when I ate cookies and milk before bed last night and then again when I got up this morning. I love you so much!!! Happy Birthday to the best hubby everrrrr!!!

Thrifted

So Matt's birthday is Monday, and tonight we're celebrating with friends over a delicious brinner bash. For those of you who don't know what brinner is, I'll explain. It is the act of eating breakfast for dinner. This is Matt's favorite. So tonight, we shall feast upon a breakfast casserole (his mama's recipe), big fluffy biscuits, bacon, cinnamon rolls, yummy fruit, 3 different kinds of cereal, and mimosas. And we will have cookies and milk for dessert. Because hello, cookies and milk goes with the brinner theme too. Don't act like you never eat a heaping pile of oreos or chocolate chip cookies dipped in milk for breakfast. Anyway, I was on a mission to find some cute pitchers to pour milk and juice out of last night, and OMG. I found a diamond. I was browsing St. Vincent De Paul and was feeling pretty disappointed and uninspired by their selection. My general opinion every time I go in St. Vincent is that they don't have anything worth writing home about and they're overpriced most of the time. So there I am, looking at all these cracked, ugly, overpriced pitchers when my eye catches the splendor of this legit vintage goddess. Not only is it a super cute, unharmed pitcher that just needs a good washing, it includes ALL the accessories needed to brew loose leaf tea in it!! OMG OMG OMG!!! I promptly grabbed this baby up and payed the 2 DOLLARS it cost. Then scurried out before anyone could try and steal it from me. 2 FREAKING DOLLARS!!! I am on cloud 9. Feast your eyes upon her, she is grand.

Sigh. It may be the beards birthday, but the lady got a present : )

Music Monday....bearded.

This song is one of those songs that we have to play over and over and over when it comes on in the car. SOOOO GOOOOOOOD.

Music Monday: Mumford and Sons

If you haven't heard of Mumford and Sons by now, I don't even know what to say to you. This is one of my favorites from them and I love the video. It's so inspiring. Bare feet walking in the grass?? HELLLOOOOO!!

Off to pick the beard up from band practice. Hope you spend this gloomy rainy night cuddly and warm!!

Inspiration

I am bursting at the seams to decorate our next place. We've moved a lot the past couple of years, and in June we're moving again, but we're sticking around for 5 years or so. That's our hope anyway. I feel like I can finally start designing a space because I'll have a stable, long term home! So excited. Here are the things I've chosen so far. I haven't actually bought any of them yet, but they're chosen and I heart them.

bedding

cute little pillows for couch and whatnot: 1, 2, 3. There's a million pillows that I really like. I obsess over cute accent pillows. I already have one I made with ikea fabric that's a bright blue with white branches and little orange dots all over it, so I'm gonna do lots of blue, orange, and gray and maybe a little yellow in the living room. There are currently about 100 pillows on my favorites list on etsy : )

This is the couch we're planning on getting! I can't remember if we liked the light gray or medium gray. I think it was the lighter one but they look a little different online than in person.

We already have this coffee table in golden brown. It's currently in storage. We're not sure yet if we're going to keep it or look for something else. I think it'd be fun to find some sort of french industrial table like Kristen's. I heart french industrial. I didn't know it was called french industrial til' recently, but I heart it.

sigh. I can't wait.

Also, I am totally obsessing over this. Someone please buy it for me : )

ALSO, you should check out Sarah's review of Paint by the glass. We had a lot of fun and I would highly recommend it. I would also highly recommend Sarah. That sounds dirty, but it's not.

And since your'e asking, here's some Harlem Jones for your viewing pleasure.

and here's a scrumptious niecy for your viewing pleasure.

XOXO!!

music monday, beard edition: friendly fires

try not dancing to this song.

Music Monday: Matt Costa

I have loved Matt Costa's music since I first heard it about 4 years ago. Matt and I got to see him a couple years ago at Miami and he was SO good. This song is one that I have to do a little dance to every single time it comes on my ipod and then I usually hit repeat at least once or twice. Enjoy!

Music Monday: Lady Edition (a day late.)

Woops! Looks like I got distracted for a week again. Big surprise. Good thing I'm not feeling well today and alternating laying in bed and on the couch is very conducive to blogging for me.

If you haven't heard of The Civil Wars yet, you need to look them up and get ready to obsess over them. I discovered them because I like to stalk follow Joy Williams, and when she started talking about her new project, I naturally went right for it. They have exploded over the past year and I am so excited for them! There's so much talent in these people. I can't wait to see where they go!!
